SANKUANZ F/W 2013 COLLECTION: A CARNIVAL OF DISTANT WORLDS, COLOURS AND RELIGIONS

A carnival of distant worlds, colours and religions. This is the mood of the Sankuanz F/W 2013 collection presented by fashion designer Shangguan Zhe and created in co-operation with the artist Chen Tianzhuo.

The man displayed by Shangguan Zhe during this Fall/Winter Shanghai Fashion Week is a cosmopolite dandy, who builds his own look mixing the stuff he has found during his trip around the world. Tibetan tunics, long red skirts, like the ones worn by catholic cardinals, total printed suits, ankle rolled trousers, scorpions, centipedes, platform sneakers, cats, baseball caps worn on the contrary, big jewel-accessories, skulls, fringed round glasses. But the biggest revelation are the huge backpacks, as a celebration of Chinese traditions.

A well balanced collection in its eccentricity: combining so different elements actually it’s not easy, the danger of falling into the ridiculous is hidden around the corner. Sankuanz it’s a different story. The final result is pleasant, non-obvious, but rather is able to capture the viewer’s attention. An intellectual street style, sophisticated and wearable.
